Readers may be interested in watching my interview with John Roskam from the Australian Institute of Public Affairs, recorded about ten days ago. We cover Machiavelli, freedom, Japan, lockdowns, Milton Friedman, the future, storytelling, history, and various other topics. It was a really enjoyable experience for me - I think things properly get going about 6 or so minutes in - and I hope you like the result.

Thanks David. It was super to see and hear you in action.
I'm left with the question of whether you then see capitalism as the solution? Is there a form of compassionate capitalism out there that accepts the feedback of people suffering through exploitation in order for others to thrive and readjusts accordingly?
It's so interesting for me as someone who has never given herself a political label to find myself, since 2020, more and more seeing the healthy and unhealthy aspects of all the political -isms out there, and swinging backwards and forwards between them, not having or want ing a political home.
I'd love to hear you talking to someone who both questions social justice identitarianism and the authoritarianism of lockdowns etc, as you do, and at the same time is coming from a Marxist perspective regarding class relations.
PS Did he pronounce your name right? 🤔
